The first thing was to finish off some of the bits and pieces I had lying around and the first that came to hand was a slightly bigger sea glass piece.
I had chosen slightly greenish glass pieces this time and stuck them onto a hand-dyed green fabric background which was then stretched and stapled around a canvas.
Feather stitch in variegated coton a broder and beading.
Delica beads in aurora borealis frosted greens and bright shiny oranges with a few tiny pearl beads thrown in too.
Then I found a small piece of this fantastic psychedelic cat print fabric. My youngest fell in love with it and there was just enough to make her a very simple skirt.
I stitched it into a tube, made a hem at both ends and threaded elastic into the top. Very lazy, very easy, very quick and one very delighted cat-loving 7 year old who won’t take it off!
Not sure the top quite goes with it, but it’s the holidays, so as long as she’s happy…
