I was absolutely delighted to find that Rachel of VirtuoSew Adventures had chosen me as one of her 5 picks for this award:
When given this award:
1. Thank the giver and link back to their blog.
2. Reveal your 5 top picks and leave a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award onto your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too.
So, firstly, thank you very much, Rachel. Not only is the work she produces exquisite, but I really value her supportive and intelligent comments.
And here are my picks. I do know that some people don’t like awards, so I hope I haven’t stepped on any toes by giving these out and apologies if I have.
In alphabetical order…
- Deanna of Eclectic Meanderings. Another incredibly generous and supportive blogger, I never know what delights I’m going to find when I visit Deanna’s blog, from lace making to thrifting, to story cloths, to natural dyeing and everything else besides.
- Sue at Heloise. Wonderful photography and fabulous colour. Her notebooks and journals are a delight and her current art prompts work is really inspiring stuff.
- Marjorie at Moonsilk Stitches. Again, another blog where the breadth of types of embroidery and creative work is breathtaking, as is Marjorie’s output considering the demands of her busy job!
- Deb at saltbushstitch. I love the way the environment around her influences Deb’s stitching and her Travellers’ Blanket is fabulous.
- Maggi at To Dream to Stitch. I find Maggi’s experimental stuff tempting and intriguing! There is always so much to see on her blog and different techniques to ooh and aah over.
I could have gone on, and on, and on. Thank you to everyone whose blogs I visit and whose talents and creativity give me food for my soul.

i so appreciate your kind words and your linking to my blog. hope you’ll understand that i do not do the awards thing.
Absolutely. Award or no award, it’s always good to appreciate inspiration and talent where we find it.
I too appreciate your very kind words.
Thank you for your kind words about my blog.
Thank you Alex for your wonderful words. I would prefer not to do the award thing either, but I have put a link to your blog in my Blog List (something I’ve been meaning to do for ages!!) I LOVE the work you showed in your previous post. So interesting, and that thread you used looks amazing. I will have to keep my eye out for some of that.
Going to check your recommendations now – as you say, though, it can be hard to confine such recommendations to such a small number!
